Bayswater North Primary School

SEASON TWO BEGINS AT BAYSWATER NORTH!

Season Two of the Home Grown Project is the 'hand over' season.

The Teachers take over from the H.G.P.Team and using the lesson plans provided, conduct the planting day themselves!

Remember, you don't have to be a gardener to be able to inspire Students to plant and care for their own vegetables, you just have to follow the lesson plan and lead with confidence.

Congratulations to all the B.N.P.S. Teachers!

PRE-PLANTING DAY MAINTENANCE

2nd FEBRUARY 2009

THE GARDEN NEEDS A GOOD TIDY UP AFTER SUMMER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!

THAT'S BETTER, THE GARDEN IS NOW READY FOR THE SECOND STUDENT PLANTING DAY.

STAY TUNED FOR PHOTOS OF THE STUDENTS PLANTING THEIR SECOND SEASON OF VEGETABLES.

 EDUCATION VISIT # 2 ~ 31st October 2008

THE B.N.P.S. GARDEN STARTS TO FLORISH!

It is so rewarding to see the genuine curiosity of a group of new young gardeners!

Andrew asks the Preps "who can remember the name of the vegetable your class planted?"

They all answered correctly and were subsequently thrilled to see that their plants were indeed beginning to produce Broad Beans, as promised.

A Lote class visits the garden.

It will be great to see vegetable labels in German as well as English.

Students are on the look out for pests.

Andrew reminds the students to leave the Lady Bugs on the plants as they help to control the pests.

Grade One Students give the peas a helping hand!

Job well done... girls!

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK B.N.P.S.!

SPECIAL GUEST VISITOR!

The garden receives a special visit from

The Hon. Tony Smith MP

(Federal Shadow Minister For Education and Member for Casey)

Composting is easier with Aerobin!

Garden Installation ~ 12th & 13th May 2008

Installation Team - Andrew, Shaun, Sam and Erin

The Team hands over the garden to Principal Leigh Johansen and the students.

The finished garden is ready for the students to commence the planting and education program early next Term.

Highlights and student comments from the installation.

The highlight of this installation would have to be watching Sam, a member of the H.G.P. installation team, racing the students from the soil delivery location back to the garden site with his fully loaded wheelbarrow. Needless to say the students won most of the races, but hats off to Sam for keeping it up for the entire lunch hour!

Our favourite student question: "Are we allowed to eat the vegetables?"
