Hon. Julia Gillard MP - Deputy Prime Minister

Western Region Launch

 The Home Grown Project Team and Glen Devon Primary School students were delighted to have the Hon. Julia Gillard, Deputy Prime Minister, visit their school on Friday 15th of August, to officially launch the five Home Grown Project gardens in the Western Suburbs.

Upon arrival at Glen Devon Primary School, The Deputy Prime Minister was greeted by:

 Once the introductions were completed it was time for a tour of The Home Grown Project Garden.

 

 

 

Erin Prater (H.G.P.) explains the Home Grown Project's program to The Deputy Prime Minister.

After the tour it was time to head in doors for the 'official launch' where the Glen Devon Students, Staff and Parents were waiting patiently.

 

 

 

Assistant Principal, Jane Screen, welcomed everyone to the launch.

 

 

 
 

Erin Prater, (H.G.P.) publically thanked The Deputy Prime Minister for her ongoing support.

 

 

  

School Captains, Nathan Faltas and Kate Cooper contributed their thoughts on the positive impact that The Home Grown Project is having on the students lives.

 

 

 

 Special guest speaker Jane Edmanson spoke passionately about the need for students to learn how to grow their own healthy, fresh food options via in-school programs like The Home Grown Project.

 

 

 

 The Deputy Prime Minister spoke warmly about the positive contribution that The Home Grown Project was making in Schools and on the lives of the students that participate in the program.

 

 

Assistant Principal, Jane Screen, closed the official proceedings by thanking everyone for their attendance and inviting everyone to the staff room for a cuppa and a chat!
